How to use a barcode with your scanner

Swap the pass's QR code for a Code 128 that any counter barcode reader can read.

    Open More → Card and tap Scan code.

    Choose Barcode (Code128) and tap Save changes. Passes update on their own with a barcode and a 12-digit number.

  3. 3

    In Scan, tap I have a barcode reader (no camera). The reader types the number and the customer's profile opens.

    To make Scan always start this way, turn on Barcode scanner mode by default in Scan, under More → Business.

What if…?

Can I go back to the QR code?

Yes, choose QR in Scan code and save.

What happens if I move off Ultimate?

Passes switch back to the QR code on their own.

Can I type the number by hand?

Yes. In reader mode, type the 12 digits into the search box on Scan.
